THE SALIF KEITA GLOBAL FOUNDATION
The Salif Keita Global Foundation is a non-profit organization started by Malian singer, Salif Keita, to help build free healthcare and educational services in Mali and around the world, that will treat diseases such as skin cancer and poor eyesight, common to albinos. The organization with offices in Mali and US, will also make donations and instill programs aimed at raising cultural awareness, eradicating poverty, malaria, and AIDS.
UNHCR
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. The agency is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country. THE GLOBAL FUND
The Global Fund was created to finance a dramatic turn-around in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. These 3 diseases kill more than 6 million people each year, and the numbers are growing. This massive scaling-up of resources is already supporting aggressive interventions against all three. By funding the work of new and existing programs, we can save millions of lives, stop the spread of disease and halt the devastation to families, communities and economies around the world.

DATA
DATA was founded by U2 lead singer, Bono. The organization aims to raise awareness about, and spark response to the crises swamping Africa: unpayable Debts, uncontrolled spread of AIDS, and unfair Trade rules which keep Africans poor.

The GLOCAL FORUM
The Glocal Forum aims to balance the global with the local by strengthening inter-city relations and harnessing global opportunities for the economic, social and cultural interests of the local community.

QUINCY JONES LISTEN UP FOUNDATION
The Quincy Jones Listen Up Foundation is a non-profit foundation that believes in equal opportunities for all children. The foundation supports healthcare and education programs for children and fosters loal initiatives that have the ability to make a global reach.

BUSKAID SOWETO STRING PROJECT
The Buskaid Soweto String Project is financed by Buskaid -a charitable trust registered in both South Africa and the United Kingdom. The String Project is led by Rosemary Nalden in response to a BBC radio interview highlighting the difficulties of a group of young string players in Diepkloof, Soweto. Since then it has quadrupled in size, and currently (April 2004) comprises approximately 70 students ranging in age from five to twenty-four, and all drawn from the less privileged local community.
